CBAT Guide
How long should you practise for the CBAT?
There is no single preparation period that suits everyone. Your starting ability, available time and weaker areas all make a difference.
Start earlier than you think
Giving yourself several weeks means you can practise gradually rather than trying to improve everything immediately before your assessment.
Quality matters more than hours
Thirty focused minutes in which you identify and correct mistakes can be more useful than hours of repeating questions without reviewing your performance.
Increase intensity gradually
Early sessions can focus on understanding different tasks. Closer to your assessment, introduce more timed work and longer sessions that require sustained concentration.
Do not burn yourself out
More practice is not automatically better. If fatigue causes your concentration and accuracy to deteriorate, take a break and return when you can practise effectively.
A sensible principle
Start early, practise consistently, measure your weaknesses and gradually introduce realistic time pressure.
