CBAT test types explained
CBAT is not simply one test. It is a collection of aptitude assessments used to measure abilities relevant to particular roles.
Numerical ability
Tasks may require you to process numerical information accurately and efficiently. Preparation can include mental arithmetic, estimation and becoming more fluent with everyday calculations.
Spatial awareness
Spatial tasks assess how well you can understand positions, directions, movement and relationships between objects.
Memory
Memory exercises can require you to retain information for short periods while continuing to process other information.
Attention and concentration
Some aptitude tasks place demands on your ability to remain focused, identify relevant information and avoid distractions.
Multitasking
You may need to manage more than one stream of information at once while maintaining an acceptable level of accuracy.
Information processing
Aptitude testing can reward the ability to understand instructions quickly, recognise patterns and make decisions efficiently.
A useful warning
Your preparation should not rely on assuming that a practice product exactly reproduces the live assessment. Use practice to develop the underlying abilities, understand common task styles and become more confident working under pressure.
